12 tags of 2015: april

Well I'm late this month, but I'm finally getting this post live!
I had to wait for some of the supplies for this months tag,
so I really didn't get to tag making until last week!
I have two tags to share,
The first is by far my favorite!
Not only do I love love love hydrangea's but i am loving this purple!
Here's a little different view,
And then I went completely the other way and a little overboard on the color
with lots of yellow and blue.
I decided I liked the plain and simple a lot better!

a Get well soon card

I recently won some of Tim Holtz' new Bird Crazy stamps,
and I thought they would be perfect to cheer up someone that is sick.
I stamped and then colored up my bird with some distress pens,
Ohh i just love the little flip of his feather (makes him look like an elvis bird!)

For the "Get Well Soon" sentiment I stamped in peacock feather distress ink, and then clear embossed over.
Finally I finished the card off with some twine so the bird isn't just "floating in space"
He sorta looks like he's a bird on a wire.

Thanks for stopping by and check out my work,
you all mean so much to me.

Yummy painty goodness

Sometimes I just like to get messy!
Ok, most of the time I like to get messy!
I've been trying out new techniques and processes,
and I just wanted to share some pictures with you all!
I made these for an alter composition book swap with my art friends a month or so ago.
Mmmmm
It's mostly all paint and stamps, stencils and bits of paper!
For this one I added some buttons and a bit more sewing.
I don't know if this is inspiring to you or not, but I know I often just love to
look at all the yummy colors!
Most of the paints used were from Dina Wakleys line of paint.
I even used one of her stencils.

Hope you are doing something crafty this week.

Fools gold for Easter

Happy Easter!
I hope you are getting to spend the day exactly how you want!
I will be at work, and while I love my work family,
I would rather be spending the day with my own family.
Ahhh the life of those for us that are first responders!

Today is a new challenge over at Anything But a Card,
And this month the challenge is "fools gold"
Even though I live in Arizona, I don't often come across fools gold.
However I have been coming across a LOT of gold in crafting lately,
and so I have been dazzled, and have had the chance to try out some new products.
Today I am sharing with you this fun little sign I made to celebrate Easter.

I got my grubby little paws on some of the new decoart foils,
and I went to town.
These foils are a lot of fun to work with, but they can be a little temperamental.
For the frame I rubbed on some Inka-gold.

I do hope you will hop on over to the new challenge and join in!
